Rove: The Right is Still Wrong

So recently GOP strategist/dark lord Karl Rove caused some controversy by suggesting that "Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to . . . offer therapy . . . Conservatives prepared for war." (YAY! WAR!) Even assuming this were an accurate analysis - which it's not - it still doesn't imply any great foresight on the part of the Conservatives.

Declaring war is one of only 3 responses the GOP has for any situation. When the GOP faces something new it tries to either hang the 10 Commandments on it, cut its taxes, or declare war on it.

Since Bin Laden is already a rich guy who doesn't pay any taxes and they couldn't find him to hang a 10 Commandments plaque around his neck, declaring war wasn't so much a brilliant idea as the only one the GOP had left.

I admit this is something of an oversimplification because there is something else the GOP could have tried, but they probably decided that "Terrorism Is Just A Theory" stickers would have been perceived as an insufficient response.
