1) These tips and suggestions are just that. I'm not an expert; I'm just a guy who likes to work on stuff in his house/yard/car or what have you.
2) These things are my experiences. If I recommend something or someone, it is because I had a good experience. You might not have the same experience. It could be because I write instructions poorly, or that the person/suggested item hates you and wants you to suffer.
3) I'm not paid by anyone to do this. That means I try to offer sound and reasonable advice from my experiences and not because I am an ad man or yes-man.
4) Not all the advice offered will be of the most sound kind. Use your judgement before using mine. I am of the "maybe I will read the instructions, or maybe I won't" school of home repair.
5) If you want to know how to "Do It Right", get a book on home repair or pay someone qualified. If you want to know how to "Do It Pretty Close", then follow my advice.
6) My estimation of time is piss-poor. What ever I give for how long it should take, double that for the time it will most likely take. If I state a time of how long it took me, it will be pretty close to how long it actually took me to do that task.
7) Consider all the tips and suggestions like you would from a friend. I want to help, but what the hell do I know?
